The Foundation
Compiling internal interviews, collecting existing documentation and creating personas helped in creating the overall flow. My mission was to structure the overall project and focus on users and navigation.
Research was conducted to compare logistical and user management applications with existing tools like Excel and Google Sheets. For the past decade, users have relied on Excel to manage their projects, so shifting this ingrained mindset posed a significant challenge. However, developing and showcasing prototypes played a crucial role in educating users and guiding them through the transition to a custom-built system designed specifically for their needs.
User Experience
Wireframing
Once we had a clear structure in place, we moved on to creating wireframes, which allowed us to explore how each screen would be laid out and how users would move between them. At this stage, the focus was on functionality and usability rather than aesthetics. By working with low-fidelity wireframes, we were able to quickly sketch and iterate on different user flows, test ideas, and identify potential issues early on. This approach helped the team collaborate more efficiently and make informed decisions without spending too much time on visual design details that could be refined later in the process.
User Interface
UI Design
The main goal of the application’s user interface design was to create a visually appealing, intuitive, and user-friendly experience that aligns closely with the brand’s identity and values. By maintaining visual consistency through color schemes, typography, and layout choices, the interface reinforces brand recognition while establishing trust and familiarity with users. At the same time, careful attention was given to clarity and simplicity, ensuring that users can easily understand how to navigate the application and access the content and services the business offers without confusion.
In addition to aesthetics, the design prioritizes usability by organizing information logically, minimizing unnecessary steps, and providing clear visual cues and feedback throughout the user journey. Interactive elements were designed to feel responsive and natural, encouraging users to explore and engage with the application. Furthermore, the interface was designed with responsiveness in mind, ensuring a seamless and consistent browsing experience across different devices and screen sizes. This approach helps accommodate a wide range of users while improving overall satisfaction, engagement, and accessibility.
